When I was able to read, every morning I remember each child got to select a reading from Psalms and read it in class, then we said The Lord's Prayer, and the Pledge to the Flag. No "under God" in it then. Lots of Catholic school kids in my neighborhood. When we would have arguments they would say I couldn't make them get out of my yard because I was a Protestant and I was going to hell. My thought at age 10 was that any God that thought like that wasn't worthy of my worship, and besides they were probably lying.GL Aikinnoreply@blogger.com
